Here we are answering the most frequent questions we receive from our customers about ordering coal online:

Q1. What are your different delivery costs and times? 

A1. You can place an order directly online to any postcode in Mainland UK and we will send it to you free of charge.

For deliveries to Northern Ireland please contact us so we can arrange delivery for you

Q2. How will my order be delivered?

A2. Your order will be delivered to you by a coal member of the Palletways network. It will be a kerb-side delivery, in which your order will arrive on pallet(s) using a tail lift vehicle (which is about the size of a fire engine!)

The driver will lower your product off the rear of the vehicle and will use a pallet truck to place them as close to your property as possible.

Q3. What happens if I’m not in or my property isn’t big enough to deliver my order?

A3. If your order arrives as arranged but we are unable to deliver because you aren’t at home (and haven’t agreed in advance to unattended delivery at your own risk) or there isn’t enough space available for the vehicle to manoeuvre safely on the road, and operate a tail lift; you will be liable for any additional costs incurred for the failed delivery and the order either being returned or a redelivery to be arranged. 

The return delivery charge for failed deliveries will cost £100 minimum charge. 

If you have doubts that the vehicle will not be able to safely operate around your property, then we advise you to contact us before placing your order.

Q4. How long will it take for my order to be delivered?

A4. Our standard delivery time is within 2-5 working days (Monday - Friday; excluding UK Bank Holidays) and we aim to deliver between 9 am and 5 pm on your assigned delivery date. 

Saturday or timed deliveries are possible for an additional charge. Either contact us or put your requestion in the special instruction section when placing your order, and a member from Coal Hut will contact you to let you know if your request is possible and what the additional charge will be. 

Q5. What happens if I’m not happy with my order?

A5. Here at Coal Hut, our mission is to provide you with quality products with reliable, hassle-free delivery. However, we welcome both positive and negative feedback!

All feedback will be followed up by one of our team members in no more than two working days. 

If you aren’t happy with the condition of your order when it has been delivered, then you need to make this known to the courier, who will, in turn, contact us (see our Delivery Terms and Conditions for more information).

If you aren’t happy with the performance of the fuel, then contact us and a member of our team will get back to you ASAP. 

All returned goods must be sent back in their original packaging and condition received within 7 days of delivery. There will usually be a return delivery charge to cover the cost of the return and any product used.
